What are the Boosters?
SLV Athletic Boosters is a nonprofit organization for SLV parents and alumni who are interested in supporting athletic programs at San Lorenzo Valley High School. Boosters have financially supported high school athletics for over 35 years. In the 2010/2011 school year, Boosters contributed over $75,000.00 to SLVHS sports programs and facilities. SLV is the only district in Santa Cruz County that is a NO PAY TO PLAY for sports due to the Booster and District Office support and cooperation.

How does SLV School District pay for sports?
The District Office, Athletic Boosters and Individual Team Sports ASB accounts pay for the SLV High School athletic program.
What do the Boosters pay for?

When are Booster meetings?
Booster meetings are the second Wednesday of each month (September through June) at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Multi-use Room. Please come and help with SLV sports.

How does Boosters raise money?
*Memberships - (click here to download Booster Membership Form)
By becoming a Booster member, you automatically help support SLV Athletic Programs. In addition, membership also gains you entry into all home games for all sports (excluding tournaments and playoff games). As a Booster member you also have the privilege to help shape SLV sports programs by voting at the monthly Boosters’ meetings. We strive for school-wide parent participation. Forms can be either downloaded or picked up in the counseling office. Return completed forms either to the counseling office or by mail to SLV Boosters, PO box 616, Felton, CA, 95018.
*Bingo
Bingo is Boosters’ main source of revenue. It raises approximately $10,000 a month that goes to both our Boosters’ general fund and to individual sports. Bingo is played every Monday night of the year in the Portuguese Hall which is located in Santa Cruz between Costco and Harvey West Park. Bingo raises money for sports in two ways. The first is through a dedicated core team of parents that volunteer one Monday each month to run bingo. They generate money for the Boosters general fund. The second way is by giving money directly to a sport. Every sport gets assigned bingo night(s). Four parents from that sport are asked to work bingo for one night. The Boosters then deposits $500.00 into that sport’s ASB account for each bingo night worked. SUPPORT YOUR COACH BY VOLUNTEERING WHEN ASKED TO WORK BINGO. THIS IS HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR TEAM PLAYER(S)!
***WANTED*** Our Bingo core team needs parents! (commitment: one Monday evening a month). Also needed, one to three people to take over the operation of Bingo. Currently most of our core team and operational manager are parents whose children have graduated. Remember, Bingo raises the most money for SLVHS sports.
*Football Snack Bar/Concessions
The Boosters run the snack bar at the football field. Booster members and volunteer parents staff the snack bar. Concession money goes directly to the sport’s ASB account. Please help out by taking your turn at the snack bar and concession stands.
*Donations
Donations from parents, alumni and business are another source of revenue. SLV Boosters is an official nonprofit tax exempt organization for State and Federal purposes. If you would like to make a donation to SLV Boosters for high school sports send a check to SLV Athletic Boosters, P.O. Box 616, Felton, CA 95018. A receipt will be sent for your tax records.

*Support Boosters by becoming a monthly core team Bingo volunteer
*Support your child’s team by volunteering to work your team’s Bingo Night

*Volunteer to work the gate for your child’s sport
*Help your child’s team coach with team fundraisers
*Attend all sporting events and show your Red and Black
*Volunteer to help with special Booster events – Back to School Night, Physicals Day, Open House, and Coaches’ Dinner
Booster Sports Awards
Every year Boosters awards a total of $3000.00 to Senior Student Athletes. Forms and requirements can be picked up in the Counseling Office.
